" The Katrina Memorial in Biloxi, Mississippi is located near Highway 90 in Biloxi's Town Green. Dedicated to the gulf coast victims who perished in Hurricane Katrina. Opened Feb 15, 2006 in a ceremony with ABC's "Extreme Makeover" crew.
The Hurricane Katrina Memorial was built in the space of five days under the auspices of Extreme Ma...keover TV program.
Elizabeth Veglia created the mosaic from glass tiles, the stylized wave representing the water that washed over the community.
